    The number of young people not in employment, education or training is set to break the million mark, according to our new report published today. 'Hidden talents: re-engaging young people' sets out the harsh impact that the recession has had on young people, who have been hit particularly hard by recent rises in unemployment.

  • Using the Sustainable Communities Act - resources area on the website

    The Act provides a process by which communities, organisations and public bodies can, through their local council, propose changes at a national level to help deliver projects and work locally to support sustainability. Under the Act the LGA has a statutory role as the ‘Selector’ of proposals to be put forward for consideration. This area provides information on the scope of the act, proposals under consideration in local authorities, LGA lobbying and ways to join the discussion about the act.
