    These guidance notes are designed to help manage the process of delivering against Performance Indicator NI 188 as part of the Local Area Agreement process. The guidance is primarily aimed at authorities and their partners. This guidance is also applicable to those Local Areas who have not explicitly signed up to NI 188 as a local area target.

  • Spotlight on ENCAMS

    ENCAMS (Environmental Campaigns) is an environmental charity who in partnership with local authorities, Defra and other bodies campaign directly to the public. ENCAMS is best known for the keep Britain tidy campaign, which has been running for over fifty years. However ENCAMS does much more than just tackle litter. ENCAMS also campaign on issues such as graffiti, fly posting, abandoned vehicles and gum dropping.

  • Environment Our environment work covers a wide range of areas including climate change, energy, housing, planning and waste. The LGA's lobbying and policy on these and other environmental issues are steered by its Environment Board as well as being informed by the Environment Advisory Panel.
