As 50 per cent of regulation affecting local government originates from EU legislation and other international agreements, the LGA's European and International Unit works with councillors and local authorities to get the best deal from the European Union and worldwide. This work involves lobbying on future legislation, highlighting problems and opportunities and promoting the skills and knowledge of local government.
