The LGA's work on rural issues is steered by the Rural Commission. The Rural Commission is the voice of rural councils within the LGA, representing 200 English local authorities. The Commission seeks to represent the interests of rural councils and their communities.

LGA officers work with the Commission and advisers in our member authorities to ensure that a rural perspective is reflected in the LGA's lobbying on key issues.
