Council Worker of the Year Award 2010
Winners announced!
The awards champion the unsung heroes of local government – those council workers who go above the call of duty on a daily basis. Anyone, including the public, can nominate a council employee.
23 finalists from authorities across the UK have battled it out for a place in the finals and the winners were announced at the Local Government Group's annual conference. Visit the Local Government Channel's awards page to see films of all the shortlisted workers in the categories of Community Engagement, Green Award, Working with Young People, Bravery, Team of the Year and Lifetime Service.
The winners were announced on 8 July 2010 at an Awards Gala Dinner, which marks the end of the conference in Bournemouth. They will receive an engraved trophy and a cheque for £200.
