Safer Communities Board - Getting Closer to our Member Councils event
Members of the Safer Communities Board attended the first "Getting Closer to our Member Councils" event in Exeter on 12 July 2010. The meeting, the first of its kind, is part of the Board's and the wider LG Group's efforts to ensure that Councils are able to play an active part in shaping the Group's business planning and lobbying priorities.
With over 20 Councils from throughout the South West region represented, the event was both well-attended and well-received, with representatives presenting a number of innovative and interesting ideas for the Board to consider. Our thanks again to those representatives who were able to attend and contribute toward making the event such a success. Members and officers are very keen on maintaining the momentum from this event, and planning for a further regional Board meeting early in 2011 is already underway.
