Lead Authority: Lewes District Council
Proposal theme: Environmental sustainability: That The Secretary of State develops a strategy to enable Councils to promote local energy schemes and in particular review the requirements regarding private wire systems
Private Wire systems are limited by the amount of energy that can be generated and shared and passed to the grid. If sustainable local sources of renewable energy are to be encouraged government should review the legislation governing local production and distribution and give local authorities an increased role in encouraging and supporting such initiatives.
