Totally quackers!
Council rescue workers sprang into action to save a family of tiny ducklings who had become trapped in a rainwater gulley after falling through gaps in the grate.
The 12 ducklings disappeared one by one as they waddled into the road after their mother. Hampshire county council road engineers rushed to the scene in Blackwater, near Fleet, where they plucked the feathery creatures from their watery prison.
Cllr Mel Kendal said: “We hope mum teaches her ducklings some road safety skills!”
