Local area agreements: a resource guide

Supporting you to deliver your new Local Area Agreement Our new LGA/IDeA publication, Local Area Agreements: a resource guide is available for download here. The programme set out in this guide is intended to support your implementation of the new Local Area Agreements. It offers a wide range of opportunities to develop skills, understanding and capacity. These include workshops for staff and councillors, expert management support, peer review, and opportunities to learn about good practice elsewhere. The Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA), the Leadership Centre for Local Government, the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Audit Commission and the Centre for Public Scrutiny have all contributed information for this guide. This programme is a practical example of one of the key principles of the new performance framework - that the local government sector is bringing councils together to promote their own improvement.
